Note:
To LOVE-Ru: Trouble has yet to be released on Blu-ray

Someone (Zeph) used our Request Page to suggest we review Motto To LOVE-Ru, and we will. I just wanted to do season one first because I liked it better than s2. :)

Since Season 1 has never been released on BD, this will be a comparison of the DVD release to the TV version. (Strangely enough, the rental DVDs when it first came out were the TV version.)
I think TLR was the first full-scale ecchi show I ever watched. I know Lala was the first anime character I ever wished was 3d.

Episode 01:

So far, not impressed. A little less fog just ain’t cutting it

Better. Still leaves a lot to the imagination though.

Hey! Lala has a belly button.

Well her hair moved out of the way, that’s a step in the right direction. If only Yuuki had a fan in his bathroom.

Now we’re talkin’. We’ve switched from 3rd person to 1st person.

Episode 02:

A piece of this scene was actually in the Preview at the end of Episode1, but why spoil it.

So they move the hair then ADD the light… wtf?

Teleportation fog is powerless before the might of the DVD.

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who’s the fairest of them all?

Bonus tidbit of info: In the original Snow White, the quote is actually “Magic Mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?”
Not much in the way of downloadables this time… If you can’t find TLR pics online, you’re either not looking hard enough or you’re doing something horribly wrong (and most of them out there are far too graphic for me to post here anyway).
So instead, pics of the DVD itself

The rest of the DVDs are three episodes each so there may be a slight delay; I’ll try for a review each day, but no guarantees.

  1. Really nice comparison, even for a series that came out quite a while ago. I’m honestly liking all the comments you put between pics, I think they’re a nice addition. Looking forward to seeing more from you. Keep it up!
